i'm new to neuro talk...help
is anyone experiencing hyperexcitability of the upper cervical dorsal rami nerve roots??? I've seen neurosurgeons, neurologist, chiropractors and plenty of rehab facilities and accupuncturist but.... theres no immediate cure. my stomach is all messed up taking so many meds, i look like i'm 8 mo's pregnant.
i constantly have pain and pressure at the base of my skull and around my ears. if i do any lifting with my arms i get instant pressure, muscle spasm on the upper right side of my back and lots of back pain along with neck pain. i can't wear sunglasses or put my hair back in a pony tail or wear barettes, it'll trigger the pressure intensity but the pressure never goes away. in the beginning i had left sided migraines, pins and needles sensations at the base of my skull, and a tingling sensation on top of my head. this lasted for several months. i had injections at the greater and lesser osciptal nerves and that only made me have more migraines and i also had and still have electrical sensations shooting at the left side of my head wrapping around or near my left eye. i have a very stiff posture and i have a tendency of leaning forward because if i stand upright the pressure in my head gets worse. i have a appt. with a different neurosurgeon and i am hoping he can provide a hospital that has a mrn to find out exactly which nerves are affected and if they can deaden the nerve that is causing all of this pressure. all of this is due to a automobile accident that happened a year and a half ago. i was rear ended at a complete stop and my head was looking at the passenger. i suffered a concussion and my life has turned upside down since. i am taking wellbutrin, norco's and neurontin but i am now taking zanax instead of the neurontin because it seems to work the same. i also have two bulging disc and my c1 and c2 keeps dislocating according to my chiropractor. everyone tells me that the pressure won't go away and maybe in time it will, but its getting worse. i feel like i'm going crazy at times and i'm starting to get out of my depression or atleast i'd like to think so, but i live and breath this everyday and i just want it to stop. if theres anyone experiencing this please advise.... |

A big hug for you  Welcome to NeuroTalk Oh. I'm sorry to read so much is going on with you. It's difficult to handle, for you, and difficult to treat, for providers. I have multiple problems and it's hard to rehab back to pre-accdent status with so much to treat. Sometimes what helps one thing will exacerbate another. I feel your pain. You can read my earlier posts, when I first found NT and start there. I warn you, though. I write long posts. Our accidents were similar. Our diagnoses are some of the same stuff. You might find a few morsels in those to help you along the way. I've endured and tried a lot of things. There are lots of people here going through bad things. We support each other and offer what we can to you. Feel free to PM (private message) if you have any questions I can help you with, or explain in better detail some of the things I've tried. I hope you find some relief soon. |
