Completely Off Topic:Added Info on posting graphics

Way back when I first joined, and there was only about 3 or 4 of us, I was under my old name GodDreamer, neurotalk use to have a thing where we could change the skins. Does anyone know what happened, and why that isn't so anymore. It was fun to be able to change the colors and such.
Just wondering.

Curious 04-20-2009 06:25 PM

Lizzie...it's still there....way bottom left. The little tab is there. It will say default style. Just click that.

Curious 04-20-2009 06:30 PM

BTW Lizzie...the username was GodDreamer2007.

Since the Guidelines only 1 account, we need to merge the 2.

Do you want to stay with the new or old name?

Maxwell'sMom 04-21-2009 10:46 AM

Yes, I want to stay with the new one, and thank you so much for letting me know how to do this.
Again, I'll just stick with Maxwell'sMom

Yeah

Oh, I like this very much! I'm like a kid in a candy store, I'm going to use "spring"

Curious 04-21-2009 10:57 AM

I'm a Tulip gal myself. :D

Some of the older styles don't have the same features. Like moods, visitor messages and albums.

Maxwell'sMom 04-21-2009 10:59 AM

LOLOL that's funny, cause my favorite flower is the tulip, so I was torn, and then I saw the "spring" had yellow tulips..yay

erinhermes 04-21-2009 06:22 PM

Me too!

I've got my tulip on right now! LOve it!

Ok Curious, I'm curious. :Scratch-Head: I'm not high tech enough to even know what the heck a "skin" is :Dunno: , so I don't know any of this fun stuff. Teach me, teach me! :Excited: Pleeeeeze?

Becky,

The skin is the look of NT. The colors and pictures that are in the background.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Wayyyyy down.

At the bottom left side of the colored bar is a box that should say Default Style and have a little arrow pointing down.

Click on the little arrow. A drop down menu will appear with many choices.

Just pick one. You can keep changing them, until you find a style you like the best.

Here is a sample of how to delete a PM. It shows the Tulip and the pink colors

ras1256 04-21-2009 07:35 PM

Yah, but where does the skin go?

Maxwell'sMom 04-21-2009 07:47 PM

"Skin" is the back ground colors. For example, default is white and blue, but you can change that to one of the other choices. Like, I have the "spring" back ground, it's a sagie green, with a very light tan, and at the top it has some yellow tulips.
I love to be able to change the back grounds. Kind of like when you have an e-mail site, and you have color options for the tool bar..etc.

ras1256 04-21-2009 08:04 PM

Options!

Wow - I didn't know I had options on my email too! :holysheep:

(just kidding - I have set that up, I'm just not up on the tech terms really) ;)

I am going to check out these skins though. You said you can help with posting graphics too? I love yours, the little monkeys are so fun!

Thanks for the lessons!:You-Rock:

http://www.glitter-graphics.com/
This site is really easy to use. You don't have to load anythingon your computer or join to use the graphics.

Search for the picture you want. The box says Tags and has a big blue Search button.

Click on the picture you want. Then follow these directions I'm going to post in screen shots.

Highlight the complete text in the bottom box. That is the one for posting of forums.
Right Click Copy.

Curious 04-25-2009 10:37 AM

On an open Reply Box, Right Click Paste.

Do not change the code. Leave some space for text you want to add to your reply.

Curious 04-25-2009 10:39 AM

The code will appear. Then just hit Submit Reply.

It's easy, just copy and paste.

Curious,

This is SO FUN! (You know what they say - simple pleasures for simple minds - HA!)

Thanks for the detailed instructions. I can't imagine another place on earth where I can get help figuring my health issues out, support for my varying moods, and lessons in fun stuff on the computer! I saved that link in my fav's and I'll have to actually "do it" a couple of times to cement it in my skull - LOOK OUT EVERYONE - the pictures will be a-flying!

Curious 04-25-2009 12:54 PM

Have fun with them Becky. Use this thread to practice.

You can go to User CP and select edit options. Scroll all the way down and choose it from there.
I can't use the drop down in the lower left either, because I put "Spring" in my options. So I have to do it thru the User CP function.

Thanks to Curious for all those screen shots... I've never been able to do those! Duh!
I don't do graphics much, except for photos now and then.
But I do have this one!

I like this music to go with the little guys:

Love that song, Mrsd! Here goes some practice.

http://dl2.glitter-graphics.net/pub/...p2obctxk2z.jpg

WOW - I did a sketch of a wolf that looks almost just like this! I must be better than I thought (hurry, someone pat me on the back before I break my arm!)

Thanks again curious. I'm gonna send some family members some emails with cute little things attached. This is so easy and there are so many choices on that website.

I need to see if there are any pictures of garage doors there! My husband's company website needs some pictures and I just didn't know how to do this. Any expertise on how to take a picture and then get that converted to the html code so I can post his before and after pictures on his website? Do you have to go through Youtube or something?

This is soooo cool.

Thanks again!

Becky

Sometimes you have to be on the main page to get the skins to change, they should change thru the user CP as mrsD mentioned.

If none of those work maybe you need to clear you browser cache.-

Or try a page/screen refresh.

Becky here is the link of samples on how to use PhotoBucket. It's site where you load your pictures. You can add them to your website.
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread7728.html

Don't use the code for forums, unless you are posting them here. Use the direct link to add them to the website.

Depending on the software, if your server gives you software free that is, for editing your website, you should just be able to upload pictures. You can PM about that. I do the our businesses website.
