Sprained ankle ....not its broke
Hi everyone,
Just got back from pcp and my ankle is not sprained its broke!! No wonder it hurt like a bugger.. pcp said that the xray report said that it was broke but they didn't think i needed it cast. So once pcp saw that i couldn't put weight on it he gave me an aircast so now i have this huge aircast for the next 4 - 6 weeks... It wish they would have done this in the first place.. |
Sheesh, woman! You must have a really high pain theshold! Yes, too bad they didn't do this in the First place! 4-6 weeks, ugh! Exactly a year ago I was still on crutches for my ankle. *sigh I feel for you, MissHayleesMom.

Thanks Rochelle,
It feels better now that its stable |
Yow! Didn't think it needed a cast? Whuh? Poor dear, I hope you mend quick. Now you chill, and sit and take care of yourself for a couple weeks. You hear me? Don't make me come down there and duct tape ya to your chair... |
glad you are feeling a bit better Cindy.:hug::hug:

Wow, not a nice time of year to have an ankle busted...then again, there is no good time of year for that.
Hope it heals quickly and you're zooming around soon! |
Yikers Cindy!!! Ouch! Take care and I'd get a bell and ring it whenever you need anything. You are one tough chick! Sending healing thoughts your way.
Now, prop that foot up!! |
I hope it heals quickly and the pain lessens!
|
OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!
Hope it heals fast and with no complications! I hope they gave you drugs for pain. Love the aircast, beats the old plaster cast with the walking stump they used to put on! Saved it for the next time, along with those awesome metal crutches they gave me! The metal crutches beat the old wooden ones all to pieces too! :D ( i expect a next time ~ broken, sprained, strained, chipped and ripped my left ankle and knee at least ten times! :p ) |
Thanks everyone for the kind words, and laughs...
It doesn't hurt too badly now, i am able to walk on it, it does take me a little bit longer to get to where i need to go. I feel like frankenstein...the boot is huge and heavy. My pcp said that i should wear the boot for at least 4 - 6 weeks so that's not too bad. I still can't believe that they didn't think i needed it cast, i mean you can see the break, its on the outside of my foot. Right now the only real problem is the heat, i have this huge thick tube sock which i guess is to prevent chaffing. I'm having to adjust my foot wear, since i can't wear anything too flat cause of the height difference. I'm finding that i'm having problems with my back and hip because of the uneven legs.. |
