Zyrtec?
I just bought the generic equivalent of Zyrtec. I've only ever taken Claritin before but it does little to nothing for my Spring allergies.
Does anyone here take Zyrtec or have an opinion about it one way or the other? I've heard that it makes some people sleepy so I'm planning on taking it with my bedtime meds. I hope I'm not one of those people that it makes hyper! Thanks for any info given. |
Hi Kitty,
I switched to generic Zyrtec about a month ago. I break the pills in half and take it at night. So far my allergies are much better controlled this spring than they have been with generic Claritin, I think it had stopped working for me. The whole pill made me more groggy but I'm med sensitive anyway. |
Zyrtec makes you feel a bit "strange"...but not so much sleepy.
I started with 1/2 a tablet. There were no side effects with that and it worked tons better than that awful useless Claritin! Both my hubby and I take it at night just in case. He takes a whole one and I take 1/2. It is mega cheaper at Costco or Sam's compared to regular pharmacies! You can get a year's supply for $17.00 at Costco or Sam's Club. It works really well for both of us. |
BTW... I forgot to add... we are using the generic version.
The brand is way too expensive IMO. |
