MY OBIT [a fun thread]

This was one of my very favorite threads from the BT1 forum. I didn't start it the first time but thought I'd try it again.

-----------
MY OBIT

Paula....aka......lclil..[lowercase lil]..........aka Andrea Rooney,,,,,,aka .[up date at the time of my departure]

Wound tight, used knowledge to fight, learned to live somewhat right, always aimed toward the light, never managed money quite.

Best known for winning the miracle drug GDNF from Amgen after threatening to post about it one more time online. Amgen surrendered, calling it torture for anyone to have to read the same issue one more time.

gravemarker donated by parkinson pipeliners using a grant from PDF.

Now you have done it for sure.

Everyone is going to want their gravemarker for free.

You'll be gone but the action you cause will still go on lol lol lol

Thelma,

Legacies aren't all they are cracked up to be are they? lol

Doesn't anyone else want to try? All work and no play as they say.

Friends said she was tenacious.
Some said quite an irritating trait.
Community said she had a gift for words.
Some said quite an irritating trait.
Her grandchildren said she was awesome.
Quite a wonderful trait.
Parkinson’s said “gotcha”.
She said ‘no way”.
In the end the latter two agreed to disagree.
Entered a partnership and departed together.

Death is a natural fact as is life itself. The fear of death is the basis of all religions.

We laugh during all of our lifetime and not to laugh at death and the pitfalls that can pertain to it is to give it predominance over llife.

That we should never do IMHO

It is a mystery as was birth to each of us.

I love a good mystery and especially if I am the main attraction lol lol

I am late seeing this, haven't been too many posts lately to check.

The problem I have with your post HF is the judgemental nature of it. We had this post several years ago and it really had very little to do with thinking about actually dying. It was a great post and very funny and creative. This time it didn't go over oh well.

I think humor is essential - I've had PD for 17 years, so I really don't respond well to those who try to make me feel guilty. I'm sorry about your father, but I have it too.

Thelma your comment cracked me up and Charlie, as always, you understand.

I spent the last 5 years of my life working with kids facing death on a daily basis and the ones who were able to laugh did the best in terms of recovery and attitude. Society is uptight about death and that's sad. (I'm not saying that to belittle the seriousness of death but c'mon.)

Laughter is one of the greatest gifts we've been given. Use it proudly and often. (I'll step off my soapbox now. Thank you and good night. Don't forget to tip your waitress and try the veal!)

I don't have an obit per say, but I always thought it would be funny to put the following on my head stone...

"See? I TOLD you I wasn't feeling well!"

And by the way, I want to go out of this world the same way I came into it...kicking and screaming!
