Just came across this board
 

My name is Mary. I am 23 and suffered a concussion in November of 2008 as a result of a battery. I was hit in the face and shoved backwards and hit the back of my head directly on the edge of a table. I injured my mid to lower back and also had swelling around my one eye. At first I was experiencing headaches, dizziness and fainting spells. Doctors told me that the first few days would probably be the worst and I should be feeling significantly better within about a week.

The headaches and dizziness continued and I also noticed several other symptoms including memory and cognitive problems. I have seen 7 different doctors and all they have really been able to do is try to manage the pain.

I was so relieved to see this site and that other people are going through the same things. It is helpful to know that some people out there do understand. From what I can tell so far I also may find more answers and information here than I have been able to get from my doctors.

Hi Mary. Sorry you need a place like this, but I'm glad you found us. You'll find a lot of support here, day and night. I'm more of an early bird, but there is almost always somebody home when you want to talk. We have some "fun" forums, too, if you don't want information, just companionship.
