I am going to go cry for a few days

I got word that a work colleague died today.
I last saw / spoke to her when she was in the hospital in Dec.
The family wants some people from work to speak at the service next week.

Thank you

Hello,

Thank you.
I appreciate the support.
She had a long illness and this past week we knew that we could get word at any moment.

I think I might have to attend a family service and then a service at work. They might be hard.
I don't think I can get out of them.

Maybe I can prepare myself for them somehow.
And maybe I can leave early if I have to.
Certainly I hope that getting dressed and showing up mostly on time will count. I don't have to sit through the whole thing each time I hope.

I am looking forward to talking to her mother.
I met her mother last December and she is the sweetest person I've met.

Even though someone is ill for a long time Mari, you're never prepared when it happens. I don't know how to tell you to prepare for the service because I've only been to one since my mom passed, a friend I met in the hospital. The whole experience just brings back too many painful memories. :(

Maybe you could just go and pay your condolences and leave quietly. I always like to send something living, like a plant. Or maybe cook something and take it over to the house.

Whatever you decide to do, it's what's in your heart that counts :heartthrob:

crying sounds wonderful....don't push yourself. your tears will help fill the emptiness.
