sinus infections trigger

I have had tn for 1 1/2 years. It started after many sinus surgeries which caused osteomyelytis of sinus. Dental work was first trigger. Anyway, now have been on lyrica, trileptal, and nortripltyline. My triggers seem to be any stress, physical or mental to my body. Had to go on hormones cause menstral cycle was a trigger. Now whenever I get sick, cold or sinus infection, I get triggered. Pain is dull, with ocassion shooters in face and top of head like a metal pole is shoved through the top of my head and into my face eye and cheek. I met with a neurosurgeon whose only suggestion was to stay on meds, cause his solution was servering the nerve because his history with people like me, didn't have a good success rate. Are there any others with similar history who have had either mvd or severing of the nerve whom have any ideas. Right now I have been suffering for 5 days because of a dam cold.

Oliverjen.sorry to see you having such a painful time. I think most of us have the pain levels up in the winter. I personaly never had a m.v.d. it is not an option for me. I do not know if you have this book ?? it is a great book about t.n.

there is more then one doc out there and if you dont agree with his conclusion ask for a second doc to check it out if that is possible. I know even just getting one doc is hard these days. Stress phyical or mental is a big trigger ..to much stimulation. I am sorry your are suffreing as you are but you not alone I am in middle of a cold and my eye feels like a scud missel is being shot out of it or into it and my jawS been tweaking in shakey fits .
I will p.m. you with some sites for you that may help.
Sure hope you get over this pain soon and find a way to better PAINFREE days.
