Now what...Help

Well I have finally adjusted to the 20mg of prednisone, went to my gp, he gave me a B12 and extra calcium and Vitamin D., and he also would like to see me not take prednisone., and says maybe a different brand of mestonin., but he advised just do what I am doing for now., and go to the other neuro that I have to wait till August but I am on their waiting list., he made me feel more secure as he advised for me to always call him ., he spent over 1 hour with me.
Well I just started to be my oldself., mentally, now this morning I wake up and my whole body is itchy., I have some welts on my inside of my arm but not red., but just itchy ., I took a cold shower., meanwhile I am taking 20mg prednisone., I just took 50mg of benedryl., what could this be., I didn't think it was from the MG., but who knows., any advice please?
thanks

Go to Urgent Care. That's the only sensible advice. Then, on Monday, go see an allergist and figure this out so you won't go insane!!!

Have them check your Trypsin levels in urgent care to see if you are having a "real" allergic reaction. And, no, itching is not a symptom of MG.

This is nothing to mess with. If it's an allergic reaction, you have no idea if it's going to get worse or how fast. Are you still taking the Mestinon?!

Please go in. If you don't have an urgent care, go to the ER. I hope you get some help very soon.

If the benedryl takes care of it, it would be hives or an allergic reaction of some sort. If it does not or red spots appear go to the local outpatient to have a doctor look at it. I developed shingles and they presented similarly (mine were on my left side though); they hurt and are contagious if you don't get them right away.

Glad to hear you're feeling better mentally :)

Good luck

Cheers,

Brian.

Whirlwind , It is unbeleivable how drug sensitive our body's become after MG, I used to be able to take anything, now I can count the drugs on one hand I can take. New reactions pop up all the time. I hope you get through this ok !

So sorry this is happening to you right now, I know how it feels. Maryec is right, I too used to be able to take anything, now, I can't take anything, not Pred or mestinon, nothing. Make sure you talk to your Dr. and have them check everything, just like Annie said to do. I hope you feel better soon. :grouphug:
