I Can Run!!!

Well, for a minute I could!! :o

I was sitting at my desk which is right beside the windows in the sunroom. The bird feeders are just outside in the yard and I can see them from where I sit.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw the hanging bird feeder start wiggling back and forth and some sort of commotion was going on beside the back porch that I didn't have a good view of. The birds were making a racket, too....fussing and chirping.

I stood up and looked out the window and saw a CAT with a bird pinned on the ground. :eek: Had his big 'ole paw right on top of the flapping, fluttering little thing. :mad: I ran out the back door and around to the bird feeder area clapping my hands and making all sorts of strange noises trying to scare the cat off. Well, it worked. The cat ran off and the birds all flew somewhere. They'll probably never come back after that show I put on :o. But they all seemed okay and I didn't see any blood on the ground. Just a few feathers.

I just stood there......and finally realized how quickly I had made it out the door. Anybody watching probably wouldn't have called what I did "running" but it's the quickest I've moved in several years! :o Now.....I'm in pain and my legs feel like jello! :rolleyes:

I feel better now knowing that if there is an emergency I can still move......albeit awkwardly. :cool:

Sometimes cats smother of suffocate the birds by standing on them till they stop wiggling. Sounds like you made it just in time.

Woo! no lunch for the kitties today. :cool:

Thank God you didn't take a digger! A happy ending all the way around. Whew.

It makes me so mad when those cats roam all over the neighborhood. Besides being dangerous for them , they stalk the birds who come to eat at the feeders.

My cats sit at the window and growl and hiss at any cat that wanders into our yard. They're real brave behind the protection of the glass......they'd probably hightail it if they were actually face to face outside with one of them! :p

I remember when I suddenly was able to run. It was last summer, and someone was breaking into the house next door. I spotted them and called the cops. Then I ran down stairs and out the back door to see what was going on. Afterward, I remarked to my hubby that I had found a cure for MS – adrenalin.

Hey Kell, terrific for all concerned..:)

I had read of a woman with MS, who went parachuting and could not only walk, but said she was cured, after the jump..:rolleyes: Adrenalin is a powerful thing. :eek:

:hug::hug:

How funny. Yes adrenaline works for me too. Went to feed the horses last night and thought Robbie looked awkward up the top paddock. Turns out he had his foot caught in a fence (again). I RAN towards him, calling 'woah' all the way. But by the time I got there, he's ripped clear, taking most of the fence with him. At least he's ok. Just makes me feel worse than ever that he's so bored without his rides he has to find his own entertainment.

Way to go Kitty! Just remember you did it to help the defenseless bird.
