Constant cold sores!

Hello all! Just wondering how many of you have constant cold sores? I cannot seem to get rid of mine, and Dr. I won't give me any meds for them b/c I am already on antibiotics for my teeth and he is worried that I will become too weak.......

THanks!

Hi Alan!

Alan! So good to her from you! You're still @ 60? Have you been getting strange cravings? Any weird side effects? How are you DOING? I've missed you!:D

Has your dr told you when they plan on cutting your roids back??

Again - sooooooooo good to hear from you! I have missed you bunches!:D

Are you having sores in the mouth?
If so these could be athphous ulcers:

Or if you are on alot of antibiotics may be Candida.
Candida can be treated with nystatin.

I don't see why your doctor will not treat these! They are very painful and can get infected! The suggestions on Wiki are very good, and do work for most people.
I'd add zinc supplements to the list myself.

Cold sores on the lips are easily treated
1) OTC with Abreva ointment
2) Zovirax or Denavir ointment + 4 Valtrex tablets short course.

Abreva works wonders for reducing the duration of cold sores, and Blistex (the kind that comes in a tube) will reduce the pain.
