Feet hurt

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anybody's feet hurt. Yesterday after sitting down for awhile I went to get up and as soon as I put my feet on the floor the bottoms and top of my feet hurt along with my ankles and legs. Has anyone every experienced this before?

HI MarciaD!

Hi Marcia! I used to have really bad pains in my feet and legs - turned out to be a vitamin deficiency and I was anemic - really anemic...You may want to talk to your neuro and tell him/her what is going on...they may want to do some lab work to sort this out..........

Hope this helps!

Yes, I get that too. I don't take vitamins {because they make me sick} so it could be you are lacking something. I know I have low iron and B12 but when I tried to take supliments it made me very ill. Talk to your Dr.

in regards to being anemic-if you find you chew on ice cubes incessantly, nonstop it is an indication of anemia. i chewed nonstop 1 summer , drove hubby nuts and read it somewhere. went for labs and sure enough very low iron.so listen to yourself-if eating them constantly, check with dr

Hi Marcia.

Yes, my feet hurt OFTEN. As a matter of fact, for about a year or so before I had my first bad episode with MG I bought so many shoes thinking I wasn't getting good enough arch support! Now I know that it goes with, and is a signal for, one of my diseases/conditions. I was low on Vit D, but I have that caught up now and still have the foot pain. That is one thing the anti virals (for the other condition) haven't relieved, so I'd have to say it's the MG. Maybe the muscles in the feet trying to make up for deficits in the legs? I'm not sure. Do the palms of your hands hurt as well? Does standing on a cold floor help your foot pain - does mine. Try it.

My feet hurt terribly bad, especially by the end of every week. I am a teacher and on my feet most of the day. I need to look for some new comfortable shoes for next year. On Friday nights I have a part time job and I am on my feet from about 7 pm to 1 am, with a 20 min. break to sit. By midnight, my feet ache bad. I hurt bad when I wake up too. I use the weekend to recover and start all over again the next week.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'll tell my neuro about it. Also a quick question that does not pertain to this subject, how do you become a member on this site?

Hi Marcia,

When you first log on to the website you will see a blue bar with...User CP, FAQ, etc. Click on FAQ then REGISTRATION from that list. Answer the questions and you'll be good to go! Hope to hear from you again soon.

I get it from muscle stiffness, due to myotonia I have, bad cramping in my feet & legs at night. My hands & forearms lock up also, the neuro has told me this is due to my overlap, connective tissue disease, not the MG though.
Hope you get feeling better, Marcia !

Marcia, Just to confirm, your feet/ankles/legs did not hurt while you were sitting?

It could be a circulatory issue. Cardiologists deal with that, not neurologists. Have you ever had an evaluation by a cardiologist?

When you stand up, gravity will make it harder for your body to circulate blood. Most people's bodies can handle that just fine.

That's why I was thinking a possible circulatory issue. If it's there all the time, then I would think a B12 deficiency or something else like a neuropathy from another cause (like lower back/spine problems).

Dehydration can also make your feet hurt.

Whatever is going on, it's best to talk to your primary doc and ask them to refer you on to a specialist if need be.

Annie
