Clothing & shoes
Has anyone elses style of clothing changed ? I have found that light loose fitting clothing helps with my energy level. There is less resistance & wieght, plus, helps with the heat factor. Shoes are like cement blocks strapped to my feet, at home I wear sox around, I wear merrills slip on shoes to go to stores, or outside, they are light. Resistance with the clothing seems to be the culprit !
Plus it is hard to find higher neck styles to cover up the thymectomy scar, for going out, most of the shirts are scoop or v neck ! Any brand suggestions, or stores, that any of you use, I'd love to check them out ! :wink: |
My scar is my badge of honor..LOL, I don't hide it because to me it shows I am a survivor :D I have to admit, I still wear my high heeled shoes and well the better my clothing fits the better, except in the summer, if I could walk around in birthday suit I would, but instead I wear summer dresses and sandels, but when at home I wear no shoes at all.

Maryec;
Ilive in Florida too and wear Croc's all the time because they are so light and there is a color to match everything. I was told by an orthopedist that they were highly recommended. My right leg drags worse than the left and this helps.:winky: |
Thank you for your help, I will have to try a pair of those croc's out, since they are recommended, the lighter the better. I have so much trouble just standing on my legs, right now. Never mind looking decent, thats another story !! LOL.....

I just wear low soft socks or go bare foot around the house. I like to shop on line at Lands End. I'm only 5ft. and they have a great petite selection. I wear a lot of their v neck tee shirts, because it only shows about an inch of the scar so it's not one of those low v's...I don't like them. They have a new line of clothes this year that are super light weight and is the material that draws perspiration away from the body and dries fast. It's called Sun...something. I ordered a pair of their roll up pants that button on the side at different lengths, but they were too long for me, even in a pet. They have shorts & shirts too. I always wait for a sale plus free shipping to order things. And if you don't want to keep it, you can ship it back by ups coming to your house to pick it up or have someone return it for you at Sears. Might be worth checking out the wesite. Happy shopping! Hi mary!
Hi Mary! I've noticed that long, light gaucho pants are great - also great are the lounge pants from Old Navy - they are really light and comfy. As for tops, I always wear tank tops - my scar doesnt really bother me @ all - I consider it my badge of honor and flip flops all the time!
It may sound super casual, but I can dress it up for the office and look totally appropriate all the time - now when I get home the clothes come off! LOL!:D I've also noticed that empire waistlines are great looking and very slimming! An added bonus! Hope this helps! Erin:D |
Hi All,
Does anyone know if crocs make your feet sweat? Pat |
Good question, Pat! My feet tend to be on the wet side, since the mestinon came along.
