Bad pain day!
Hi everyone,
Today has been a very painful day. My back has been hurting really bad for 3 days, and my RSD pain in my left leg, and some in the right have been through the roof. I went to My Pain Management Doctor today and saw a Doctor in his group, which was like talking to a wall. My Doctor is on Vacation, and he returns next week. I don't know why I'm getting hit so hard with all this pain, maybe it's the barometric pressure, or moisture in the air! I'm really taking it easy, that's for sure, I'm taking my meds relaxing in my recliner and watching cable. This is a great group and I'm grateful I found it, It's awesome and has way more stuff than some of the other groups I belong to. Well, I'm going back to the recliner and the T.V., thanks for the vine! jmac51 |

I think of myself as a human barometer; cold fronts, rain, any sudden change in temps,..makes me very unhappy as my pain always increases. Welcome, and know you have support here for you. |
Oh, I do think the barometric pressure affects people with pain issues. I've had a bad few days myself (arthritis), even tho I don't have RSD.
Severe rapid changes up or down, and I feel awful. If the LOWs remain that is bad for me too. I find it interesting that I like the HIGHs, and my husband likes the LOWs. |

I have a wonderfull Dr. I see monthly to 6 weeks. After 5 years, I'm going to have to get a new Dr. I really hope to get one as compassionate as my present Doc. He is a neurologist, psychiatrist, and pharmacologist. I'm going to try a pain management center. To be listened to is comforting isn't it. How did you get RSD? How long? For me, it's been 13 years and now full body -it followed surgery, but wasn't diagnosed for four years. It was 109 degrees yesterday and I starting swimming 3 days ago. That's helps so much to keep mobile, lifts the endorphins. We have very close couple visiting from Oregon. They are a blessing as friends, they visit every other year for 9-10 days and enjoy our pool and we enjoy them so much. The self-suffiencient kind of company. Both in the medical field and very compassionate. He is in nuclear med. and she is a counselor. Is there a pool in your area, like the y or something. The water needs to be 86 according to RSDSA and very good to keep movement. I have found massage therapy helpful too. Hope your flare eases up soon. Take care and again welcome, your friend, loretta:) |

Maybe you should (subtly) mention his partner's attitude to your doc when you see him next time. It totally stinks that not all doctors can be relied upon to help and support us when we need it most. There is a website where you can rate doctors - something like "rateyourdoctor.com" that another board member here provided on a previous post. Try to find it and put a comment in there regarding the doctor's callous attitude towards patients. It's possible that it won't have any impact on him, but hopefully it will make you feel better. Hi Jmac,
So sorry to hear that you are in so much pain right now! I really hope that by the time you read this, your pain will have settled down a lot!! There is nothing worse than your Doctor been on vacation when you need them - that has happened to me a few times and is SO frustrating!! I hope that when he returns, he will be able to help you! If your pain gets too much though, please don't be afraid to go to the ER as you shouldn't have to be suffering like this!!! My pain also goes up when the weather changes. My mum says I should be a weather forcaster as I can always tell when it is going to rain lol. I really hate the winter. It's been so cold and raining over here in the UK lately and I can really tell as my pains gone up a lot!! I'm glad to hear that you are resting! Hopefully that will help you and you'll start feeling better real soon!! Take care and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers! Alison |
Thanks for all the support,
It helps me to know that I'm not going through this alone! jmac51 |
