2nd US confirmed PML case announce today
 
2nd US confirmed PML case announced today. Patient had been on Tysabri 24 months. No other details about patients condition released. Last US case was announced on 10/31/08.

7th confirmed PML case in the post marketing setting.

We have a new way of counting these cases every time there's another announcement . . . you just gotta' get with the program. ;)

This is the 10th case of PML from Tysabri, 7th since the re-introduction, and 2nd in the US (since the re-itroduction). I think the first 3 from the trials were in the US too though.

Your links didn't work for me, but I did find the information on Biogen's website.

I don't really count the first three because nobody had realized the risk of combo therapy at that time. With 40,000 patients on Tysabri as of March 2009, these numbers seem pretty good.
