Repetitive Strain Injury and PN
 

Hi Everyone:

I'm wondering if anyone here feels that they have a link between a repetitive strain injury and PN. Over at sorehand.org, some claim that a severe case of RSI can lead to PN. I feel that is the case with me, but I cannot find a dr. who agrees with me or supports this.

I had a bad case of RSI in my upper extremeties. About a year later, I started having numbness in my feet, which then progressed upwards until I was finally diagnosed with PN.

I went to the dr. today and she switched me from neurontin to cymbalta. I'm hoping it helps. The neurontin was working, but I was building up a resistance, so instead of upping my dosage, she switched me to cymbalta.

I wish everyone in here the best of luck in dealing with PN. It's not an easy disease to deal, and I know that you have bad days. I'm hoping you all have more good days than bad ones.

A few of the long time TOS {thoracic outlet syndrome} forum members have some spread of pain or symptoms to the lower body.

I have developed some low back /hip discomfort myself.
I think mine is myofascial related, but I haven't had any xray/imaging done for low back yet, so that may tell another story when I finally do.

I believe a few of the TOS docs do believe sx can sped to lower body, but some disagree also..

Have you had MRI or imaging to check out other possible causes?

I had a MRI last year of the neck and it was normal.

I'm also a long time TOS sufferer. I had a scalenectomy (sp?) on the left side. At the time of my surgery, my only symptoms in my feet were numbness. I brought it up to Dr. Sanders, but he said there was no connection. Now he is retired, and I have so much pain from the neuropathy, I'm not even sure I want to have the right side operated on.
