Awaiting a diagnosis: MMN?

Started having bad leg pain while sleeping in Dec/Jan. Finally rec'd a referral to a neurologist that did EMG studies, MRI of brain and spinal cord, manual testing, spinal tap only to show I did not have CIDP and ruled out MS. He is referring me to another neurology clinic for further testing for possible MMN or ALS. HAs anyone had a diagnosis of MMN that started out with leg pain? Everything I've read so far seems to involve the hands. I have carpel tunnel in my hands for awhile but all of my problems with this PN seems to involve my legs, which started with cramping at night but then showed up in a left leg gait disorder that is residually still there and problems in my right leg with pain esp at night while trying to sleep. I still work full time and it's so trying to get up after so much interrupted sleep. Doctor won't give me anything right now for pain w/sleeplessness. I'm doing my own thing trying to get better sleep. Have tried taking glass of wine, Valerian root, acetominophin with benadryl, and melatonin on a rotating basis just to get some rest. I feel like I'm being somewhat shuttled around due to insurance problems in getting to a final diagnosis on this problem. It's been about 6 months and pain has gone from legs into hips/lower back. If you've got a diagnosis of MMN that started in upper legs, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks. -B
