Prayers needed for my Cousion please

Hi everyone,

We could really do with some prayers for my cousion.

About 2 years ago, she was diagnosed with liver cancer at 3 years old. She underwent Chemotherapy which didn't really help so ended up having to have a liver transplant.

It took them ages to find a donor so in the end, my uncle ended up having to donate part of his liver to my cousion. The transplant went well and they both came out of the hospital about a week later but still had to have a nurse visit their home on a daily basis and go to the hospital weekly for blood tests etc.

My uncle and aunty took my cousion to the hospital last week for a blood test and they found out that her liver isn't functioning well and her liver enzymes are a lot higher than what they should be. This could mean that her liver is rejecting.

She has to go to the hospital tomorrow for a blood test and then depending on the results, may have to stay in hospital where they will take her to the operating room to put a camera down into her liver to find out what is going on.

Please keep her and our family in your thoughts and prayers that everything will go well.

Thanks - i'll keep you all updated!

Thank you both for the prayers for my Cousion, Shakira - we really appreciate them!!

My nanan spoke to my uncle yesterday and said that my uncle sounded really upset and couldn't really get his head around what was happening as my cousion semt to be doing OK for a few weeks. She's been having some pretty bad UTI's and colds but that is about it. When my aunty spoke to the doctor though, they told them that sometimes, theres no apparent symptoms of liver rejections so it was really lucky that they went for the blood test if it turns out to be that.

My aunty said that my cousion was more worried about missing a day off school or ballet class than having to go to the hospital again bless her!! It's quite funny watching her do ballet as my uncles liver is growing in her really fast from the transplant and she is growing pretty slow so her belly is stuck out lol!

Thanks again for the prayers. They are at the hospital tomorrow morning so i'll let you know when we hear anything!

Thank you all for the prayers!

My Cousion went to the hospital today and had more blood tests and a ultrasound on her liver.

The Ultrasound results came back OK thankfully and my aunty later spoke to the doctors who said that the blood results looked a lot better than they did previously!!!

My aunty told them that 3 people that had blood tests at the hospital last week had to go back for further tests as it was believed something was wrong even though everything turned out OK. It looks as though there was a fault on the blood results and the doctors somehow mixed them up.

It's soo cruel that many people had to go through that just because of a mix up from the doctors.

My cousion is now back home but has to return to the hospital if she has any more problems but so far, everything looks OK thankfully!

Thanks again for the prayers ... we really appreciate them!

Dear Ali12

I'm so glad that your cousin is doing better then they thought that she was doing ,due to a mix up of blood samples.

I'm going to say a prayer for your cousin, and the person who had the blood sample in question. I hope that person gets well also. BF:smileypray::smileypray::hug::hug::hug:
