Hello

Hi All,

Sorry I haven't been around, but I have been sick. Had a horrible allergic reaction to Cymbalta. Also last Wen. night hubby took me to the fire department to have my rings cut off. Left hand fingers swelled so much there was no choice but to cut them off. My RSD had also spread now into my right foot and right hand. Hubby and I are getting rings fixed and I will wear them on a chain around my neck. It does feel werid not having them on my finger, but hubby and I know in our hearts we are still married. I had to go to ER for pain control and no one knows what RSD is or how to treat it in the ER(so frustrating). Hope all is well with all of you.:hug:

Kate, I know exactly how you feel. ER treatment can be extremely frustrating. I went several months ago by ambulance because I was in too much pain to drive. They pretty much ignored me. Thought I was only seeking drugs.

I had so much shoulder pain I could not move my arm, and wanted an exam to make sure it wasn't something else. They were baffled when I turned down an offer of pain medication - told them I had plenty at home.

BTW, this was one of the largest trauma centers and research hospitals in the area.

RSDSA has a main objective of physician education. That is really what is needed so we can get not only treatment, but respect.

Glad you are getting your rings fixed. I am sure your husband will understand why they are not "on your hand."

Best to you --

Mike

I am so sorry. Did you get into your doctor who is helping you with this since the ER? I went to the ER in the start of this and had the experience of no hlep. I have a friend who has other condition of chronic pain which is not RSD but found the same problem. Take care and hope things look up
