One more thing to give up

How embarrassing! I was asked to play bass horn in a brass quintet playing live music for the local high school music teacher's son's wedding. Halfway through the service, during a prayer, I suddenly choked and could not get my breath back. I was so embarrassed I did not attend the reception. I don't think I can take that chance again so my performing days in small groups has probably come to an end.

Only for a while.........

:DHi GI6607! You may have to give it up for a while.....but hang in there!

Once your meds kick in, you are gonna be amazed! You will feel so great!:D

Before I was dx'ed I was too weak to even swallow - now (with help from my meds) I am able to go out and sing for hours - hours! Not so great for everyone else, cuz' I am tone deaf, but feels so good to me!

There will be rough patches. There will be days when you feel weak. Then ther are going to be days when you feel so great that you almost forget you have MG! Trust me! I promise you that!:D

Big, big hugs!
Erin:D

re. hobbies

I know what you mean...I've been singing since I was 12, and I no longer have the breath or enunciation to do it well...Also have been playing guitar, but fingers/wrists are weak....Here's hoping Eric's right, which I think she probably is!

How frustrating for you. Its always so hard when you find something that you cant do because of the mg.......................

Hi GI,

I'm so sorry that happened to you, but it will only be temporary...just intill you are stronger again which may not be too long. I believe you will playing your horn again in the near future.;) Hang in there and we're pulling for you!

Take care,
Pat
