Weekend Check in Thread: Friday, June 5, 09 How are you?

Hello, Everyone,

Maybe you would like to drop a report. . . or mention something coming up this weekend.

I need to shower to get the gunk out of my hair --- not sure when I will feel up to it.
(That's my big report for the moment. )

Well today is the last day of school for Jackie and I am dreading the full brunt of Summer...The rain is gonna be a downer though since we need to get to the pool. Jackie's dr appt went well yesterday, he tolerated the last immunization he had to have for 7th grade so all is well. :)

I am still bouncing off the walls over my contest video entry though, probably will until I hear that I won or that I wasn't chosen, we'll just have to see which way it goes. :) Still thinking postive though. ;) THe AC in the car is going sadly, we think we have a small leak since the recharge we did didn't really help much. I don't know, I can live without it but Jackie and Jack need the ac so it's kind of important. :p

Hopefully we'll have a good weekend and good week, it's looking like a lot of rain though, so who knows? :(

today is a stinky rotten day

last night slept with kitchen door unknowingly ajar... and we have these trees outside which perfume at night heavily... which i am allergic too. so i awoke with full blown reaction, stuffy painful nose sinuses, burning eyes throat, and cough. plus my back had got chilled or something. so, achey vertebrae especially cervical area plus cervical & sinus headache combined.

then i got two text messages which reaaaallly set me off regarding my current hopeless social circumstances. i went numb for about 15 mins then "came to" and bawled for about a half hour. so much for beginning the day with a friendly voice (Rush, The Spirit of Radio).

so i started the day with coffee and a plethora of medications in high doses. after crying bout, watched 2 murder she wrote reruns, one of which i had not seen. aunt called right when they were wrapping up so i don't even know the ending. then i started zoning out and went back to bed with a hot water bottle under my back.

i am pre-menstrual right now too and aside from migraines (i don't have one of those! thank goodness) i've noticed other times i've had backaches and stuff i've blamed on getting chilled... has anybody else noticed increase in backache/cervical headaches at that time?

now, i just woke up again. i would need to go pick up a sterile sample beaker for my labs from the pharmacy (just downstairs) if i am to go do my labs tomorrow, but it's raining - by local definition - cats and dogs. this rain is minimal to moderate by what i grew up with, and i don't mind rain normally, but i am still achey and just generally grumpy and don't want to dress or go outside for whatever reason let alone get wet.

i think i will probably have to do dishes after dinner and am already not up for it.

electrode glue gunk out of hair

Mari, not sure what type of glue they use, but maybe on the E forum they have some experience - on gentle ways of getting that gunk out of hair - it is tenacious.

or maybe Donna can help?

Donna, what do you do when Derrick has EEGs???

good luck, Mari. boy, today really is a stinky rotten day. yuck.

Dear Pam,
I hope that Jackie does well with you this summer.
I'm glad that the dr appt. went well.

Don't ya think the rain could start letting up and go to its summer predictable schedule?

Dear Waves,

What you describe does sound like a rotten sinky day.
That's yucky about the tree stinkiness.

I hate when I get thrown backward by something that could have been prevented /controlled for. That makes me feel worse about myself for some reason.

You don't have to feel almost apologetic about rain. If it is throwing you off your game, it needs to stop raining.
I'm glad that you are going to do labs.
Maybe you'll make it downstairs to get the beaker.

well...

it stopped raining.

i broke out and went to the pharmacy, got two beakers and ordered my wellbutrin (i knew they did not have it in stock, but i can't take it till after i have my blood drawn anyway). still, now i'm all set to get labs, be that tomorrow or not. and the wellbutrin will be in on monday. i forgot actifed tho! luckily i have my regular antihistamine, but it does not have decongestant in it which i need sometimes with these darn trees.

i also went by the lab to check the hours. do not relish showing up too early, and having to stand outside with hunger cramps and a beaker full of urine in hand.

i stopped by a bar for a beer after that. just one. i don't know if the walk or the beer or both helped my backache but it improved. not my head/neck though. my head still feels really weird. i even did some stretching earlier, before going out, but with little luck.

oh, Mari... lol, about the rain... emmm, not so much apologetic... more meant as a scoff at the local concept of "raining cats and dogs." i mean - to me, cats and dogs means rain that can bust an umbrella, or drench a person in a 10 second sprint to their car. cause one to pull over when driving rendering windshield wipers totally useless. i believe you are familiar. ;) i spent most of my life in the subtropics. so i get pretty underwhelmed by the reactions to rain here. mind, when i don't want to get wet, any rain counts. i just don't call it cats and dogs, ya know?

my mother is doing the dishes. bless her. i will try to help dry/put away or something. but i feel sorta dizzy ooky. this cervical crap is weird.

Dear WAves,
Sweetie....I am glad that your back might be alittle better after a beer...if I read that right. Your mothers arm must be better if she is washing the dishes.
a good dark beer is good and it always lifts my spirits.
sorry you had a stinking day...
I am getting ready to go to my womens journey thingy workshop.
have a great weekend for who ever follows.
