deleting a post

are we not allowed to erase a post we posted the day before???? i posted a poem in one room then posted it in the room which the poem pertains to as more people would understand the poem and now i am trying to erase the one in the creative corner but it is not an option. when did this change come and why ?????????? it is one big reason I like this site. any thoughts anyone???????

Hi Burntmarshmallow
you should be able to delete your posts.

have you tried using the advanced format when you go in to edit??

If you are still having a problem, let me know and I will delete whatever you require for you and will also bring this to Doc's attention

Dear BMW...

It is tricky, as there is a radio button like the little ones on the smilies below
in the delete window.

You click on edit, when the window opens you go to advanced, and this brings up the posting window like when you make a new post.
Delete is in there someplace, so you click delete and then at the bottom
comes the choices...
Do not delete this post
delete this post both with the little radio buttons

It defaults to do NOT delete..so you have to click the DELETE one.
It is like the deleting of your profile picture and avatar. And I guess it is
this way so you don't accidently do it when you don't mean to.

I have done it twice.. when I realized a double posting. And one recently, so
it should work.

tryed this ... clicking on edit then onto advanced once there there is no option for me to delete olny to edit . I have done this before here . I guess maybe that is a sign the goffy post dosent want to leave. but i will keep playin with it maybe i am to sleepy.:Zzzz: now
Thanks for helping me along msd and chemar, might need more help later.

hmmm..

I just tried this with the previous post:

Hit edit ..and a box will appear.

Delete button is right there after advanced.

click it and this comes up:
Quote:

o delete this message, check the appropriate option below and then click the 'Delete this Message' button.
Deletion Options
Do Not Delete Message
Delete Message
Reason for Deletion:
I don't know how to do a screen picture capture, but these are the text.

You have to click the "Delete Message" and the little black button will
show there then. I always put in a reason, only that does not show after
you delete--so I don't know why it is there.:o

no delete button I have after hitting edit is save , go advanced ,and then cancle. no option to delete ? I will post this and then try to remove this in a little while.

Wittesea 12-14-2006 01:05 PM

You have to first hit the "go advanced" option.

Once you have done that - then you will have the option to delete.

If your post is the first post on a thread, and if others have replied, then the option to delete is not there.

And as Chemar said, the moderators can calways help you to delete or edit a post. Just point us in the right direction and tell us exactly what you want, and we are happy to help :)
