gait disturbance before and after ACDF c5 c6

Hi All,
I've been reading with interest many of the postings related to ACDF.
In particular those relating to c5,c6.
I'm now seven weeks post surgery and would love to hear from any of you who had trouble walking.
My symptoms pre op and post op were a bit different from many of you that contribute.
Pain in my neck, bladder problems but the one that really made life difficult was not being able to walk unaided.
I now walk with the aid of a frame or w/c.
The weakness in my knees has lessened considerably since surgery which I find encouraging.
Post op the pain is quite manageable luckily, nothing that a couple of panadol at bedtime won't fix!
What I'm keen to know is there anyone who has or had numbness in their body that eventually went or lessened but most of all could walk unaided again after a period of time when they couldn't.
Thanks,
Lee

Gosh, I've had a fusion at that level, and didn't know it could cause problems with walking? Or in the legs? My right arm was the problem for me. It became almost useless. I could't even sign my name. I had pain, numbness, and couldn't control it. After the fusion, and several months of therapy I can use my arm and hand almost normally. I have some nerve damage, but not enough to keep me from using it anymore. I hope it gets better for you. :)
