OK! I’ve had it with cog fog!

Day before yesterday I had an appointment to have my pre-op physical for having my cataract eye surgery. Because of cog fog I ended up by mistake taking my blood pressure medication twice. That messed up my EKG to the point that I had an abnormal result, and I now have to see a Cardiologist today. I am going to feel like a total fool explaining to this doctor what has happened. Then, yesterday, I filled my van up with regular gasoline. Unfortunately, my van is a diesel. I have just had it with cog fog. I am going to call my MS clinic and ask for something to solve the problem.

Does anybody have any experience with ADD medications for MS cog fog?

I have very little cog fog, since I've been on LDN, I know you are on it,too, so, I guess it's not helping you as much..:(

It could be, that you are out in the heat too much....that will cause cog fog, in a hurry! I can't think at all, if I'm overheated.

Some alhiemer(sp) disease meds have been used for PwMS...ask your Doc.

Stay Cool and stay well..

I've taken a few over the years. The one I take now -- Ritalin-SR (20mg) once per day.

Does it work... a little bit. I've tried several others over the years.
Severe Fatigue doesn't have much in the way of good treatment -- at least for me.
I've just had to reorganize my ways in doing things.

I do wish you well!!

I take Provigil as needed. It does help me concentrate and think clearly. I only take it when I know I'm going to have to be alert and attentive for a specific occasion. I think I do OK without it but take it now and then as a precaution. When I know I'm going to have to stay up late or not have the chance for a nap I'll take one and it really helps keep me focused.

An update:

As it turns out the medication error, if it indeed did happen, didn’t have anything to do with the EKG results. The Cardiologist said that I have a slight irregularity on the EKG, but it’s not a biggie. He is monitoring my heart for 24 hours. I’ll have a stress test next week, and an Echocardiogram too. He said that all of this is just be sure that I won’t have a problem with the anesthetic, and at most I might need my blood pressure medication tweaked. That makes sense since my BP medication has not been changed since I lost all that weight. In any case, these are all good baselines to have. I am quite relieved.

I know what you mean about the cog fog. I have a suggestion for the pills. i was having trouble remembering if i had taken my bp meds so i got one of those containers with the days marked on the lid, If that day was empty i took the pill.
