Hi, again, pbrown. I don't know if this will help, but, I took myself off of morphine treatment for pain. I stopped cold turkey, which was stupid. These were perscribed meds for me. I ended up in the hospital for de-tox to be weaned properly off of the morphine. They gave me a med called Clonidine. It is very effective for de-tox. Maybe it would help you too. I think an AD may help you as well. Some docs use Suboxone to help addicts off of addictive substances as well. Good luck.....:)

Pot messes up your dopamine receptors.I'm trying tyrosine, its a amino acid i got from the health food store.Today was the first time i took it and it made a difference already.I would do some research on it before you take it but I think it's worth checking out.I'm take it because of opiate addiction which does much more damage then weed but pretty much close to the same(it's all about the dopamine). Please do not take benzos they will help you short term but they are much harder to quit then pot if you take them for any time period.a couple of weeks on Claudine or "Clonidine"and you'll wish you were coming off pot.Good luck Bro

Possibly Lobelia at some health food stores. What are your withdrawal symptoms that you are hoping to treat?

I just quit medical grade MJ 30 days ago and have 0 withdrawals. I am also on Klonopin and Effexor. If you want to feel what it's like to truly suffer horribly, just get on a tranquilizer, an anti-depressant, take it every day for a few months, and quit. You'll be in an entirely new solar system of misery than you will from MJ. I feel for you - I have heard of some people (not many) suffering from withdrawal from pot. I would suggest you go to some group - marijuana anonymous, or possibly even a psychologist. You may find that your problem might be something else. For example, maybe you used marijuana to mask the symptoms of some other problem - like Depression (it's why I used it). That's common, and if you've never been in a deep depression before, then you could sure use some guidance - professional alone or in a group. As I said, I'm 31 days today off marijuana. I couldn't care less. I had a harder time quitting ice cream. I only wish my anti-depressant and tranquilizer (Klonopin) were even five times as bad as whatever I experience from MJ (nothing). BTW, at 3 months, I don't think you've even got any MJ in your system any longer. I smoked MJ 24/7 for the better part of seven years. Quit because of career issues - no problem. I'm not rubbing this in your face. We're all different. I'm just thinking - that at this point you're 3 months in from pot. Pot, not cocaine or Effexor, or Klonopin. If you're still feeling truly bad, I think the problem may be deeper and you should be evaluated. Beware of being put on pills every single day. You will be far more addicted to anti-depressants and tranquilizers than you ever were off MJ. I found it hard to believe people are on here telling you to try tranquilizers. If staying awake for two weeks and shaking sounds like the kind of withdrawals you'd like to experience, just get on those for a few months at a good dose, and quit. Anyway, best of luck. You can do it, but get some help. I think the problem might be something else - the reason why you took MJ in the first place. Peace!
