Hey ladies!
HEllo all! Do the rest of you get really, really TIRED during that time of the month?I know I have endo, but I really DRAG every month - been on the sofa all day today - all day!
Big hugs! Erin:D |
LOL, yes I used to feel that way but I had it cured.... Begged Dr. to remove my uterus and bam all done. If you don't plan on having any more children I would think about it. Plus think of all the money you would save on monthly products LOL

Erin, You bet that changes in estrogen levels affect MG! At one point, I had gone on BCP's continuously to avoid the "dip" I would have in my MG during "period" week. Now that I've been off of BCP's for an entire month, my MG is taking a huge hit. That and the wonderful "hot flashes" and hot weather have combined to make my MG very unhappy.
Here is one article about acetylcholine and estrogen. It hasn't been studied a lot in reference to MG in particular. But whatever affects acetylcholine affects MG! Look at page 154. http://books.google.com/books?id=6Og...esult&resnum=5 And related to heart diseaase: http://circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/cont...stract/92/1/24 The body is one big biochemical plant. Any change in one "chemical" affects another chemical or biochemical process. Joanmarie, The one thing no one tells us about the uterus is that it can affect Prostacyclin. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/reprint/87/11/5209.pdf (This actually doesn't come up as a PDF.) I had to have my uterus removed and would like to have it back. I still have my ovaries though. I wish they would kick the heck in. Erin, Maybe your docs could okay you upping Mestinon during that week or coordinating IVIG schedules accordingly! Annie |
thanks Joanmarie and Annie!
THanks for the info! I have had problems for the last 23 years during that time - passing out due to the pain, going into shock, unable to walk, throwing up and the like....I just want it to end! We were supposed to have firends over tonight to play games, but now THAT is out of the question.......
Mike leaves Tuesday for Mexico, so maybe our friends will be able to come over tomorrow......... I hope this post finds all of you happy and STRONG! Big hugs! ERin:D |
Yep I'm totally wiped at that time of the month. I've always had huge problems with pain feeling sick vomiting etc etc etc. Now I find a nice cosy place and curl up for 2-3days, as my mg is so much worse as well now..................

Hi Erin
My time of the month was always bad before the Mg, however it makes me feel rotten and very weak now. My GP put me on a progesterone only pill which has completely stopped my periods which is great as it means no feeling crap anymore. I'd love to have all that stuff just taken out but because I dont have kids and they say theres nothing wrong with me! They wont I'd have to pay to have it done privately and I dont think any surgeon would take the risk. Take care Rach |
Hi ladies, I haven't had one in years, but they use to. Hugs, Pat

Hi Erin,
I have endometriosis too and I always find this time of the month kills me! I'm so strong the rest of the month and then about 3 weeks into my cycle I can barely walk across the street alone. It's so depressing and really gets me down. I remember when I was first diagnosed I went to my neurologist and mentioned that I felt weaker at that time and he got really defensive and said, "there is NO medical reason for you to feel that way - it must be in your head." I was so shocked becasue he had been so supportive until then. I went online though and found that lots of other women feel the same, so now I just try to take it a bit easier the week before i start my period. Hope everyone is feeling strong. I have THREE more work days until summer holidays! Then I can really relax - recharge my batteries for August. See ya ~Kathy |
Hi Kathy!
Hi Kathy! I know what you mean about your neuro becoming defensive - mine is the same way - even though he is usually AMAZING! Luckily, my little nephew came over yesterday and it was so nice! He is 3 and too cute! I was even able to forget about feeling crappy, since I was alone with him for a few hours - another reason to foster in my opinion.......:D
I am a mass of nerves today - I guess it is b/c Mike is going to be gone for a week and we haven't been apart since my dx.......My mom will be here, though, as well as DEvon and Elena, so I won't be alone, but it just won't be the SAME without him HERE with me! :( He did buy me a new laptop with a camera so we can "see" each other while he's gone.......I'm really going to miss him! He's been so great (for the most part) and I am so used to our "routine"........ What are you going to do during your break? Are you super excited? Big hugs! Erin:D Quote:

Hi Rach!
Hey there!:D What a GREAT idea! I've got to ask my dr about that pill......my periods are just too hard on my body right now.....
Enough about me - how are YOU feeling? Are YOU feeling any better? Big hugs! Erin:D Quote:
