How many meds and procedures is to many?

Hi everyone,
I've had a RTL and I now have a VNS the RTL got rid of scar tissue from birth.
My VNS works with my meds not like it should never has an dI've had it since 2000. I've have E 45 years and I've taken 21 meds so far, and I'm either med resistant allergic or there just not for my type of seizures.

Hi Belinda,
It sounds like you and I have a little in common. I've been on 13-15 different AED's and I has surgery done twice to remove a scar on the RTL. I finally found out that I was drug resistant. My Epi did a special DNA blood test on me and found that I was drug resistant or just like you I would break out with a rash. I've had E. for 37 yrs. and the only 2 drugs that have helped me the most is mysoline (primidone) and Diamox. You might want to have your neuro. do a DNA blood test on you to find out what's going on and if any meds can help you with the least side effects. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!

Sue
