Why I am here....

The Neurotalk forums ... and its predecessor "Braintalk" ... became a part of my life in early 1990s. My youngest son was being diagnosed with "mild" Tourette Syndrome and ADHD ... . The support I found was the beginning of a journey in cyberspace that can only be described as a phenomena of extraordinary personal growth.

Through a stressful time of unrest in the forums (and a time when my personal world was crashing and burning), I was invited, by Alffee, to this very sanctuary - "Survivors of Suicide".

Although I have lost relatives to suicide and seen loved ones brought down by the pain of losing... I haven't experienced the loss of an immediate family member such as a sibling, parent, spouse or child.....

My loss it is different than that of losing a loved one to suicide.... it is a horrific loss, nonetheless... and although I always had hope with my loss ... I had to learn not to let it consume me... I had to learn to stay alive ...

I learned much of that here.

I have lost... and survived.

I sometimes think of this place as "Survivors of Life".

I "lost" my oldest of 3 sons when he was 22 - ten years ago... he chose to leave my life when I left his Dad.

And now I fast forward to today.... this very week.... because the birth of my son's daughter...

She is just beautiful! It has been a long wait for you, but worth it. I wonder if she has the voice of an angel like her grandma???
