Frustrated

Hi

I've been going to the shrink since November. Bi Polar 2 diagnosis. Still don't have my meds right.

First Lamictal (too stimulating)

Then Zyprexa (gained 10 pounds)

Now Lexapro and Zyprexa (nervous and crabby)

I'm feeling despair. Does anyone evr get comfortable for more than just an hour or two now and then?

Dear pam,
I am sorry that you are frustrated.
It is not common for people who are bp2 to be on zyprexa at least as far as I know. I am not a doctor....
I would worry about the possible side effects of using it on a regular basis and not just for mania. there is a risk for weight gain and subsiquent diabetes...I think I would have a serious talk about switching to another atypical, I use geodon as my anti manic med. some take abilify or seroquel.
I am sorry that the lamictal did not work out for you.
Could your symptoms be related to perimenopause at all. I know that I am 46 and am starting to have some symptoms...it is hard to know what is the peri and what is the bipolar. I can't take hormones so the natural way is what I am going to have to go thru...they say it can take up to 10 years to actually be at menopause. that is along time!
HOw is your pain being controlled these days? Are you having good control?

Dear Pam,
Are you on Lexapro and Zyprexa right now? Anything else?
What would you say that your main symptoms are?

It takes awhile to find something that works, abilify did it for me and I feel better on it then I did on anything else. I would just keep trying Pam, don't give up, you do NOT have to live with despair. Of upi meed a friend we're here for you! :D
