hoarse voice/sore neck?

for 3rd time -once 2007,again about 8 wks ago and starting again now. i get sore neck and then lose voice. i don't have a sore throat that feels better when you drink something cold,it's at the base of my throat[adams apple area]. the first 2 times i was told to try 800mg ibuprofen every 6 hrs, didn't work then used pred,20 mg bid x 10days ,10 mg bid x 1 wk,then 10 mg every other day then 10 mg in am x 1 wk. that worked that worked well the first 2 times. lab tests come back neg for throid issues, so dr says it's plain old thyroiditis. it's coming back and i just quit pred.about 2 wks ago. again -sore neck and losing voice.,is this from mg in any way, shape or form???

I've had a chronic sore throat for the last year...I just had a thyroid ultrasound to rule out the possibility of a nodule which has been ruled out as of today. My voice gets hoarse sometimes as well...I also have a nasal voice from the MG...I feel that the sore throat might be linked to my weak palate muscles...I have a lot of nasal regurgitation and my pharynx is also weak...I think that food might get stuck in there....

I'd really like to get a definitive answer, though...It's very worrisome and painful...I'm so worried that maybe I have pharyngeal cancer! Ekk!

I suffer a very simular thing and it was discovered that it was an allergic reaction to my medications. Ask your Dr. if that could be it.
