going to a friends house for a cookout... we live about 3 miles from where they will be doing the city firework show. We can see it from our front yard SO we might take our dog with us as he is terrified of fireworks too. Both kids will be AT the fireworks show and i dont want him here by himself with all the big booms going off.
I'm bringing that icecream sandwich dessert. It is so yummy.....

We just celebrated CANADA DAY here - always 3 days before the US have their big day :)

I spent the day being happy!

I heard the fireworks when I went to bed ... but didn't get up to watch them ... big trees were in the way!

For Canada Day I wore a red and white dress with a large-brimmed red hat, when I visited the Lavender Gardens with my camera. I overheard a guy refer to me as "the lady in red". *grin

In the evening I played chauffeur for my daughter and 3 friends. I picked them up and drove them downtown so they could 'hang out' and watch the fireworks. They all wore red and white and shared some temporary tatoos of Canada flags.

I picked up a movie and then went to bed early. :D

Today I went to Butchart Gardens and as always, I remembered the good times with Alffe and Mr. Alffe when they were here with me for a day. :)

Now I'm anxious to see my 5 rolls of photos!

Have fun on the 4th!

"rolls of photos"... what??!!! someone one doesn't use digital... ?!!!

Scrabble... I would LOVE to see a pic of you, sweet lady in red! What a hoot!

When I lived in Vancouver my girlfriends and I would all dress up like you described then we'd explore Granville Island or Stanley Park. We were able to ride the Sea Bus for free because we dressed up! What fun!

My chorus used to go from park to park singing for local organized events... what a blast from the past that was!

Ain't it great to be proud of your country!

(((hugs))) to my American friends for tomorrow's celebrations!

Flying by the seats of our pants!

Our entire plans for an extended weekend have totally changed!
We are now making plans moment-by-moment, as we are not anywhere near the locations we'd planned to be spending the holiday weekend!:winky:
Yet, this is fine! I don't mind simply "going with the flow!":D

Thanks so much for all of the sharing! Fun to read!

Happy holiday to all!:grouphug:
