Outlook Express won't open...Any ideas?

Suddenly I can't open my Outlook Express, but I can use Explorer. A Embarq representative didn't know what problem was. She said try to contact Outlook Express. So I logged in,and it said that my pass word wasn't valid. Dang! Any ideas? It shows a error message too.

A thunderstorm came through this area, and I turned the computer off,and unplugged the Jack.

Then the storm left the area. I turned on my computer, and plugged the jack back in after the storm, and I had all of these problems. BF

I'd reboot the computer , maybe a few times and try OE each time
sometimes things will get a little scrambled and after a few reboots - all might get fixed...

If not -
You might try a system restore to when it was working correctly..

I'm a bit confused I think ...
So the outlook express doesn't open at all?
Or
It opens but it won't download your emails?

I'm not sure where you are logging into?
a profile on a shared or public computer, or is it for your "pop" email password? gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc.

Hi Jo*mar

I'd click on Outlook Express, and I'd get that piano sound, and it doesn't open at all. Then I'd get a error message.

Later when scanning the system with Webroot spy sweeper, there is a name of a cookie that I've never seen before. BF Thanks:confused:

I never got Outlook Express back,so I had to get another used computer.

The person who helped me with another computer had a problem with Outlook Express, and a error message. It was slowing the person down from programing the other computer.

Sometimes it's a mistery, and no one knows what happened to the computer. When a computer bites the dust, that's all folks. BF

I have also been unable to log on to Outlook Express also several times. I don't have a password so that doesn't appear too be the problem. My solution in all things is cold reboot, turn off and try again, re-boot again is no success, allow time to pass, hoping it's a problem they need to resolve, be sure security software is not running, re-boot, re-boot and so far eventually can access. My computer has gotten painfullyt slow, despite de-framenting and efforts of two computer geek/expert friends, still slow,
My computer geek friend who is considered an expert at computers by US national security can not resolve slowness problem. He has several computers, fixes many and tells me sometimes he hates computers and THEIR STUBBORN WAYS. He hates Microsoft, advocates Apple. Computers!!!!

you all might try downloading Thunderbird from Mozilla and see if that works better for you.

I prefer it over outlook express any day.

You can read more about it here-
