Ear/hearing problems?
 

Hey guys,

I was just wondering...Do you any of you guys have problems with your hearing since developing MG? I notice that when my voice is especially nasal, it seems to affect my hearing a bit too...It's like my ears are full of something...liquid, wax...not sure...If I talk a lot while my voice is weak, it seems to cause pain and 'fullness' in my ears. I'm also very sensitive to certain sounds now...I've gone to clubs a few times since developing the speech/voice problems, and I have to wear earplugs because I'm so sensitive to base sounds...I also used to play in a band (but since having this, I don't play as much anymore because I was the singer :S lol). The last time I played with them, I had to leave the room because the base guitar was making me feel like I would lose my hearing. Also, if I sing certain notes, I get the same crackling/'fullness' sensation...

I know it's sorta farfetched, but did come across some things that said that people with MG can lose their hearing...So I was just wondering if any of guys have experienced something similar...

Honestly, yes, but once again I thought it was just me :rolleyes: in fact as I sit here and type this my ears are "full" I even cleaned them out but nope, still full..LOL My husband likes to say I am full of it and it has reached my ears. Gotta joke about this stuff or we would go insane. LOL

Boy, Joan...You and I have a lot in common, not just the MG, but also weird manifestations of it!

Hyperacusis. When I am weaker (generalized), I am hyper sensitive to sounds. I don't think I have a hearing problem though.

You should get your ears checked out! Really. Don't ever assume all symptoms are from MG, even though a lot are. See an ENT first and see what they think.

I will definately see an ENT...I had seen one many months back, but he was sorta a bad one (not to be mean). He told me that I was worrying too much and didn't even look at my throat (I have a chronic sore throat too):mad:. I told him that I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, and he told me he didn't believe I even had it. I hope my doc. will refer me to a different one.:D
