Brain damage as a result of hydrocephalus

Hello all. Brand new here so not sure how this works. Are there doctors on this site?
My 72 year old mother has a benign brain tumor. This unfortunately, caused hydroceohalus which in turned caused brain damage. Right now she is in a state like if she had had a stroke. She talks occasional sentences. She cannot bend her legs and has limited hand mobility.
Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done to reverse some of this damage. Even if experimental.
Thanks all. Rene

Hello Rene, and welcome to NeuroTalk.

I'm sorry to read about your mother's condition. I'm afraid I can't offer you any help with that, but I hope some of our other members can.

You asked if we have a doctor at NeuroTalk. We don't have doctors on site for medical advice if that's what you mean, but Our Administrator (DocJohn) is a real doctor, and we do have members who are in the profession, but they do not give us medical advice. You need to consult your own doctors for that.

What we as members do here is offer advice and lots of support.... we're very good at support. :D

We're a peer support group and that basically means that other people with the same or similar problems to your own, come to our forums to either ask for help, or tell others about their own experiences in a bid to assist them with theirs.

I hope that answered that question for you, and I'll send up a prayer for your mom.
