Msg?
I think I've always been slightly sensitive to MSG, but last night I came home feeling fine (if exhausted from a bartending shift at an art event), ate some Thai food, then immediately had to pass out. I woke up feeling energetic again, ate leftovers at 11, and am feeling like I've taken a Benadryl or something.
Anyone experience hypersensitivity to monosodium glutamate? Given the presumed importance of glutamate in post-concussion syndrome, I guess this does sort of make sense.. |
I am very sensitive to MSG. It gives me a headache.
A quick search found this list of side-effects from MSG. Dr. Daniel Amen, a famous psychiatrist who does brain scans, has proven that MSG is very bad for the brain. So, I would definitely stay away from it.

MSG is an aritificial substance known to cause problems in all sorts of ways. stay away. Dr. Amen, whom I respect for his work, uses imaging to have an objective test to make a diagnosis, which doctors have subjectively diagnosed for decades without imaging. MR scans cost 2K in the US and metabolic scans 4+k. it's novel work, but I don't see the need for it in medicine. just my 2cents.
