Another NEWBIE with questions

Hi to everyone.
I am a 70 year old male who has, after much misinformation, been diagnosed with PN. My PN has as yet not been classified. All I know is my feet , and hands hurt. So far, I have been put on Neurontin, and Metanx, and Nortriptyline. I have had a heart attack some years ago, and have been on Simvastatin ever since. I read somewhere where chloresterol lowering drugs can sometimes cause NP. I have yet to discuss this with my neurologist, but I will see him later on this month.
I am flabergasted by all the information, and especially the medical terms used in this communities. Seems like everybody else knows so much more than I do. But, never fear, I'll catch up.
Just want to say thanks for all who contribute. Information is the key.

Welcome Gyrene,

We're glad you found us.

You are a part of this wonderful informed community now. :grouphug:

I am so sorry you're having to deal the PN. It is painful.

I don't know if those drugs can cause or contribute to PN. A pharmacist would know the answer to that.

You're right. There's lots of smart people here who willingly share their knowledge and experience to help others. I have learned a lot from everyone.

Here is the link to PN

See ya around...

Most definitely! Statins cause PN!

Please visit the PN forum and type in statin in the search.
Many posts will come up that you can read.

Zocor is the most lipophilic statin, meaning it crosses into the brain and other nerve tissue the most!
