Thank you for sharing this, I really am delighted he made this PSA, that was wonderful. I just played it for Jack I was so impressed, just handed him the headphones and said listen...Of course I still don't think he gets that I need the medications I take to MANAGE my mood disorder, but maybe it will sink in with time. ;)

It really is hard for many to understand. Hoping Jack can finally get it over time. Donna |
Thank's Mari
I appreciate you finding the commercial. I liked what he said. I thought that it was really cool that Mark Harmon was making this commercial.
It was also nice hearing that the CBS network cares. BF:hug::hug::hug: |
i was quite favorably impressed...
I liked the way the PSA was phrased... especially:
-- that bipolar was presented as a "brain disorder" which implies chemicals or structure, and not so much psychological factors. such a description is less subject to "they just need to get their act together" reactions from people. -- the characterization by "unusual or dramatic mood swings" which pretty much covers all types of bipolar, and again, does not sound scandalous -- noting of the problem of frequent misdiagnosis and consequent improper treatment. These are things that just don't often get heard. i don't know who wrote that PSA but my compliments to them. Thanks BF for telling us about it, and Mari for digging it up on you tube! :) :Good-Post: ~ waves ~ |
Waves,
Yes. I had the same reaction to the clip. The writer got in lots of relevant info in a short amount of time. M. |
