Tests to request yearly physical

Not sure where to post this, but I'm up for a physical, and wondered what blood (or other) tests I should request- my doc is open, I think- on my list so far, I'd like B-12, D3, glucose fasting, thyroid panel, A1??, CPK- beyond the more typical. My only issues right now continue to be related to a cipro rx almost a year ago- still some leg tingling, thigh burning, anxiety, some muscle twitching (benign) and my GERD is much better. I welcome any suggestions . . .

I'd have electrolytes done... calcium/potassium/ and magnesium.
(magnesium is not always included, I think you have to ask for it separately.) HbA1C is useful and so is fasting INSULIN. (if you get the fasting insulin added, don't exercise before the blood is drawn- as it will increase the levels.)
Also if your doctor is agreeable...I'd get a Herpes Simplex and Zoster blood titre. It may show elevations that may pertain to your symptoms. If you were taking acid blocking drugs for a long time to get that GERD better, you might also have a zinc/copper ratio test done...to show if zinc is really low. Zinc can be a problem when stomach acid is low.

Good luck, I hope the testing goes well.

if all else fails, and u dont get the tests u want, directlabs.com is a good site to get some tests done. they have just about everything there, fibrinogen quantitative, homocysteine, testosterone, lipids panels, everything.

I am not good with the names so I usually ask for the obvious reg ones they test for but the b12,for gluten issues, any auto immune again and usually the doc suggests.

hmm well yeah, the ones on that site, well the have a general wellness one(which does not include b12) but does include calcium, magnesium, iron levels. the vitamin D levels you'll have to get seperate, and for b12, they dont usually let you go ahead and get that if your iron is already ok(especially if you already take a vb12 supplement you'd be set for that)
