Should I.....?
When I go for my steroids on monday, should I ask them to check me for a UTI beforehand? I'm only asking because I just feel something (a scent) in that area that is making me think that maybe there's something going on...nothing full blown, but am just wondering if I should check that before I let them give me the steroids...
Kind of wondering if the steroids will make a UTI worse...or make any antibiotics kind of useless. Or is this something they'd be checking on anyways before I get the infusion? Also, should I take anything with me to do during the infusion? I've got my Kindle e-reader, some knitting/crocheting stuff, and a laptop and some movies. I probably will save the laptop and movies for the last day. Is it seriously boring to have an infusion? My vision changed some this morning before I went to bed (didnt fall asleep till 4am) I could see almost normally for about a half hour, and then at some point, I moved my eyes to look sideways, and my eye felt like it was loose in my head and the double vision was just really weird looking. (cant describe it) |
My Neuro would always have me checked for a UTI before giving me Steroids.
Yes, Definately, Erin...steroids can make any infection worse. Good Luck.. |
That's what I thought. Good to have the suspicion confirmed tho.
My eyes dont feel as horrible today as they did the last two days, but the rest of me just feels yucky. I dont know if it's from the queasies that the diplopia is stirring up, or if it's something else. I just cant wait to get the steroids (well, I can, bit scared of getting an infusion) I feel kind of like I have a mild flu...aches, and the mild queasies...tired as hell. I just want to tell the MS Trolls in my head to F-off....there are not enough swear words to use to describe my hatred of the MS right now. I think I'll go play SIMS 3 for awhile and torture some virtual people...build houses with no bathrooms and watch the Sims go potty everywhere. |

I figure if I cant do it to people in real life, I'll torture the virtual peoples. |
I'm with Sally, get checked out first.
Before I started going to my current neuro, I was never tested for a UTI before receiving IV steroids. I've been going to this neuro for four years, and he always checks me beforehand. |
I wonder if I should go down to the place I go for medical stuff when my regular doctor's office is closed, or if I should just ask them at the infusion place before I get the steroids. (infusion center is at a hospital)

I love Sims. you build a pool, and take out the ladder, they swim till they drown. or rooms, and then remove the doors. too funny. I love that silly game. I just got the Sims3, and its pretty good. I love that they can actually leave the dang house. The gardening is great too. Its great that they can learn skills from watching TV. In the past, you had to have them read, read, and read more. it was exhausting, and their moods dropped so quickly.
I hope you feel better. |
Oooo! I didnt know that about the swimming pools! Cool!
What does it say about me that I like to torture simulated people? :icon_evil:  :Crazy 2: Well, I cant do it to real people, so I might as well be evil to my Sims...they just dont worship me enough. I was talking to my boyfriend about the game earlier today (he thinks it's boring) and he was saying they should make a version where you can do WHATEVER you want to to the Sims...(I think I would take the ability to create Sim children out of the game tho...there are just some things that shouldnt be done to them that I know people would try to do) I'd probably be starting wars and creating little serial killer Sims and making ghosts and Freddy Kruger Sims and having Freddy chase them around the town. I've already created a couple of Evil Sims...and one that was insane, but all he does is talk to himself. |
