Tender legs

My legs are tender to the touch. The entire leg from knee down. I had a
pedicure and I felt tenderness with the massage and both legs hurt. What
could cause this?

I have the same problem with my legs from the knee down, especially my left leg. I just think it is totally hyper sensitive from the nerves being so out of whack. I actually have body wide PN. There are times when you can barely touch certain areas, and other times when the sensation goes away and it may feel almost normal again. Pain in the butt PN.

Well I have rsd too which it is common to be very sensitive. I don't even allow a doc to touch my legs. I think for me it is cause I am so protective of them so any out of the ordinary hurts but that is because the pain is so high. It is like a vicous cycle. I guess the meds I am on are supposed to help that and gradually I am trying to touch my legs more.

Thanks Daniella and Hope 15. I had hoped it wouldn't be associated with PN because that might mean PN is advancing.

I been reading this board for sometime and recently became a member because I'm finally feeling like I have had this condition long enough now to make some contributions. But still it seems we all have different symptoms with it.

I am going into my 7th year with PN and finally now have a doctor that I might just get somewhere with. He is the 6th doctor I have seen and I still have an appt. with a PN specialist that I been waiting 9 months to see.

So as far as my thoughts on leg pain or rather my experience, my legs are so tender most of the time and the muscles just ache all the time. Pain Management doc said it is from sitting so much. I been pretty crippled with my PN. I was in bed from Jan. thru May with unbearable pain that no one could seem to control at all. I seem to have problems with taking the oral meds so now we are trying epidurals, I just had the 2nd one and they are not working at all.

I will share that I am gluten intolerant and also have a meat allergy. When I eat the wrong foods my pain level can run 10 for days on end. I been eating bad since the 4th and I'm paying for it now. Muscles in my legs are so tender you can't touch them. When I eat right the pain is not as bad. I have PN in both feet and pain and some numbness up to my knees and now the PN has moved to my hands.

Muffy I am glad you posted though I am sorry you are struggling. I hope you can get back on track so you can feel less pain. I know for my condition and everyone is different but the more sedentary I am the worse of a cycle I am in. Of course on some days I just can't push through the pain but on the days I can I try to do as much as I can. Are you on any meds for the ache and your condition?
JRCOO I don't know if it is your condition progressing and the sensitivity. I can have times where even a cotton pant leg I can't tolerate and then a week later it does not bother me. I am slightly different cause a lot of mine is rsd as well.
