Atypical Effect of Blood Pressure on Cognitive Functions

Hello,
I'm hoping that this rings a bell with someone!

I was recently asked by doctor to monitor blood pressure and, cutting a long story short, notice that:

- low-normal blood pressure coincides with Bad Brain hours and extreme fatigue

- med to high-normal blood pressure coincides with Not-so-Bad Brain hours and fatigue

- high blood pressure coincides with Good Brain hours and near-normal energy

The observation is consistant so I was hoping that someone could tell me if there are any conditions that would cause this effect on cognitive functioning? Or what might be happening in the brain?

It's been about 17 years and was previously dx'd with CFS/FM.

Thanks so much,
DJT

i would be curious about your renal (kidney) function .....also BP readings are going to vary from one person to another.....remember the numbers considered "normal" are a mean.......hypotension is relative....
ps..also were you taught how to take your BP? it isnt rocket science, but you do need proper technique.....

i have baroreflex failure so i have experienced the same thing that you have.
I can always tell where my blood pressure is by the way I feel. I only feel
good when it is normal to high. My pressure can go from 55/33 to 180/100
in just a matter of minutes. The baroreflex is the feedback for keeping blood
pressure stable. Mine was destroyed by radiation treatment for cancer.

When my blood pressure is low I am not getting enough oxygen to my brain
and that is when I feel cognitive impairment. I believe over time this will probably lead to early dementia. I know this is a blood supply issue because when it drops real low I get extreme weakness/fatique and dimmed vision.
