PN and CFS
Does anyone in here have PN along with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I had PN symptoms first, but then about 6 months ago, I started to get CFS symptoms. At first I thought maybe Fibromyalgia, but no tender points.
I mentioned this to my GP, but he said the two don't run together. I was just wondering if anyone else has similar symptoms. I won't go into PN symptoms, since I am in PN forum and everyone knows what they are, but CFS symptoms include: fatigue severe headache trouble staying asleep joint pain sore throat swollen glands trouble with vision memory and congnitive difficutlies |
Sunnydee,
I was diagnoised with Chronic Fatigue in the early 90's. A few years back tested positive for Lyme Disease. Problems similar to the ones you are having. Overtime I developed Peripheral Neuropathy. I have fatigue with numbness and pain, but still have problems with the immune system, and have been having more fatigue. I do feel like you can have both problems going on at the same time. I have had joint pain, but the Neuropathy is a pain hard to describe. Really painful. Have you had EBV or CMV viruses? Hope that you get to feeling better. BonDon BonDon |
I also have CFS, diagnosed for about a year and half before the PN was diagnosed. I incur all the symptoms you describe except the swollen glands and vision trouble. I'll have to ask my doctors about any link. Take care

I had thought and I could be wrong but the trigger point test is not always accurate in dx. I remember a doc thinking I had fibro which I don't or myofacial pain. I am not sure the difference but maybe you want to research that as well.

I too, have CFS.

My PN has probably been around for 10 years or more, just getting an official diagnoses a few years ago. My CFS was diagnosed this last Feb. I don't know that they go hand in hand...it's possible for one person to deal with many problems...lucky us huh?:grouphug: |

I had very bad PN 4 1/2 years ago. I was also very very tired and thought I may have CFS. My thoughts now: I had back surgery 8 years ago. No other health problems at the time. For months afterwards I was completely exhausted to the point of collapse. Fastforward to when I came down with severe PN. My body was a train reck. I think that when our bodies are damaged, the healing process requires extra energy/life force which is needed to repair/restore the damage. I think this causes that feeling of fatigue. The greater the damage the greater the recovery period and the more resources/energy needed by the body to repair. |
