Anyone know about cold laser therapy?
|
my chiro uses low level laser therapy { also called soft laser, cold laser etc}.
I found info about it and various other alternative type therapies while searching for treatments for my chronic RSI/TOS & musculoskeletal pain. I would give it a try if you find someone that uses it or has one. Chiro has used it on my shoulder, wrist, elbow, sacroiliac joint - often 1 treatment with the laser does the job for me when I have a specific pain area. here are some sites I found that help to explain low level laser therapy http://laser.nu/ http://laser.nu/lllt/Faq1.htm http://www.chiroweb.com/mpacms/dc/article.php?id=41529 http://www.atlaschiro.com/laser.htm from pubmed - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/en...&log$=activity Not to be confused with LED light therapy - they both use light but the power and speed of treatment is much better with the LLLT. |

My chiropractor also uses cold laser therapy. It has helped me and my husband has it done on his arthritic joints and it helps him.
It's a very simple procedure. The light is in a hand held instrument the head is about 2 inches in circumference it's held agains the painful area or joint for about 5 min. and that's it. Take care, sherrie |
