Just found these -
I needed to send a short message to dd and found these sites - it's quite a bit easier for me to type out a message on the computer this way - instead of going thru the cell phone hassle of texting.

You've got me interested Jo, especially seeing I'm fom a different country, but what worries me is the fact that this "free" site gets my cell phone number, plus those of my overseas friends.

It would be the perfect solution for me.... being able to send messages from here to the USA. It's always the cost that stops me sending more messages than I already do.

So far, I've found it much easier, and much cheaper, just to phone the person I want to talk to.

I hope the WOT rating {web of trust} is good - these sites were rated as safe.

dd replied and the reply came to my email address, then you can reply thru your own email back to the person.

I forgot a niece had sent me texts from her phone and I replied back by email a yr ago.

but I don't think I could have sent the first message to my dd by using email alone:confused:

I like the fact that it has a trust rating, but I still think I'll wait a bit until there's a bit more feedback. I daresay I'm a bit suspicious of anything free. I am appreciative though, and I thank you very much for bringing this site to my attention. I've already saved it to my favourites.
