Trouble Brewing So sad!!
 

Hello All

Trying to catch up on everyone. I hope that everyone is doing well. Me, not so much!

Many of you know my son and his gf had a drug issue and both went to jail. My son took an offer from the state and took a year in state prison.

His attorney tried to get a motion to surpress evidence and the motion was denied. He felt his best option was to take the deal, he was facing 15 years, as was his GF. they both had trafficking and altering prescription charges.

I have had custody of my grandaughter for the past 5 months, she has been doing great.

WELL my sons GFS attorney filed the same motion ,it was granted and it looks like her charges are going to be dismissed, they released her on her own recognizance!!!! she has 2 prior drug convictions and was in prison when she gave birth to her second child. I AM SICK OVER THIS!!!!!

She is acting as if she has done nothing wrong and I should just hand the baby over.

My son doesn't think she is ready to have the baby.....has no job, is staying with her Mom, who also doesn't think she is ready either. Her other 2 children remain with their Dad ( he is refusing to let her take them ).

She goes to court Monday for final disposition and I am praying she serves some time!!!!!

My son feels that his being in prison is the best thing for him, he is going to attend na meetings and has really done a turn around in attitude.

I know its easy to do the right thing while your in prison and have no choice, but he is talking like my son again and only wants to do right and make his daughter proud. this has been the first time he has ever been in trouble and I really think it was awake up call. His GF on the other hand is acting like its a big joke!!!

I know its evil....but I want her to go to jail and learn a lesson too!! ( forgive me)

I just can't imagine having to hand my grandaughter over to this waste of life.

Oh (((Dottie))). I'm SO sorry you are in this position. Again, it reminds me of what my best friend Penny went through. She got custody of her granddaughter at the tender age of 5 months and she is now in the 8th grade! And the mother, who had another little girl, just a few weeks ago had her other little girl taken away!!!!!!!! That poor little thing is 4 years old and now in a foster home.

You are so brave and loving and caring to take your grandchild. It's a lot of hard work so I am very impressed with your charge. :hug:

And I don't blame you one bit, and also have to agree....I hope that GF gets put behind bars as well. She reminds me of my goddaughter (the one I mentioned above) who has never learned and now at the age of 40 has lost another child!

You amaze me and I love you. I'm praying for the right outcome. :hug:

Thanks for asking Alffe. The State Attorney appealed the ruling to surpress evidence in the illegal search and seizure. So I guess We have to wait for the appeal process.

They have put a stay on the proceedings and extend the speedy trial process.

Of course the Alissas Mom didn't call me I got this info from the court website.

It is all GREEK to me I have no idea what it all means!! But i am a bit more hopeful.

I hope in this foggy state of mind of mine that I can make some sense.

1st of all, I believe in tough love, just like you. I, myself, hope that she serves sometime. But in a system where they simply serve time and find more ways to smuggle drugs and find just a way to live. I hope that the system will be able to "EDUCATE" her some how to make her a better person instead of just putting her in jail, letting her smoke, and then just let her out when the her time is up.

We need to fix that part of the system but that's another vent/gripe for another day.

you have been nothing but proactive in the way you've taken your grand daughter in. And you've given her nothing but love and nourishment that she so so deserves.

I never could understand it FULLY before, but I now TOTALLY believe that NO CHILD out there should go through any of these sufferings simply because of their neglectful parents simply because they want to have a baby "just because" without thinking of the consequences.

And how we admire you, for taking that baby in. It's a full time job and it IS hard...

I hope your son is seeing that now, what you've sacrificed for him and that he can/should see that if there is anyone that he should emulate, that it should be you, dottie...that you be the one that he will shape himself after (although he should know that from the day he came out of you.)

I know it's got to cut like a million knives in you, with him being your son, and your granddaughter being away from her parents...

but you are doing exactly what life is meant to be. You are DOING IT.

through all the hardship and heartaches...you are not making excuses and sitting down and saying: "Dammit, why me"

instead, you are getting yourself up, picking up the pieces and gritting your teeth and biting your lips and sucking it up and doing what's right....

on a personal note, I believe there are always positives to come out of negatives. I am not sure what it is in this case, as I think it'll reveal itself eventually.

But you keep hanging on and utilitze your friends and us here...vent as you need. We're here for you...

and thank you, for being a wonderful grandmother who really "GETS" it
