impatiens

Can I ask you about my hanging impatience flower? I have had it since last summer. Over the winter I brought it in the house (I'm in northern Ohio). It's on the porch again but it loses lots of leaves. Many of the 'limbs' are bare at the top then the last few inches of it have leaves & flowers. Should I prune it? Or what?

thanks, Lorraine

This is an annual plant, so it's about at the end of its life cycle. You could prune it and that might trigger some growth, some bushing out.

Also feed it a little.

As long as it's healthy, it may respond. But keep in mind even plants have a life span.

Sister, I didn't realise it was an annual. The thing is, it lived last summer, winter in the house and is still living (or perhaps I should say "dying").
