Thera shower anyone?
I ordered one of those therashowers. it has a filter to get rid of the chlorine from the waste treatment center. I have used well water for many decades, and the last house had a spring fed well. My skin is always soft and smooth, and my hair bouncy. Since we moved here, my skin is horribly dry, and my hair is dull. I thought it was MS. A friend said it was the chlorine in the water.
I just hooked it up. I am hoping it makes a difference. Has anyone else tried one of these thangs? |
No, but I wish I had one. Out water is awful here. stinks of chlorine.
Not wishing to hiijack, but got my man to dig up half the garden yesterday looking for a leak in the outside pipe supply. i could see the meter wizzing around. On closer investigation, turns out I'd left a tap slightly dripping.... Oh, he just looked toooo comfortable reading that book. |
I got it on Amazon.com at a fraction of the price of the asseenontv.com price. I am gonna give it a few days and see how it goes. At least my bath didnt smell like pool water. I understand they need to clear out the bacteria and such but DANG! how much bleach do they need?
I feel like I am in a chlorine gas chamber to take a shower. sheesh! |
Report back as to how it works. I'm interested....

Some cities and towns I have lived in offer free water testing if you have city water and one did when we were wondering about our private well water.
You go to the water company office (call first) and they will give you a small glass jar with instructions. You fill it with your tap water and return it. You may have to wait a week for results. Usually dry skin and hair are the result of hard water. Even if you have a water softener have your water tested as it may need adjustments. We have had water softeners in the last three houses and we can really tell the difference if we stay in a hotel or with friends who have "hard water". Our hair and skin is dry and flakes and we look forward to getting home to soft water. If you have a pool the pool company will do it free too. |
its only been a few days, but I swear, my hair is softer. My skin isnt as itchy as it has been, and I am still judging, but so far, I am quite happy to have a stink free bath/shower. I wrap the shower head in a large wash cloth, and let it run to fill up my tub for a Chlorine free bath.
I need to give it at least a week to give it a fair chance. I have noticed when I spend time at others houses, my skin isnt as itchy. My last house has soft water, but it was a spring fed well, so it was also amazing! I dislike city water as they do a poor job at filtering, and just cover it with Chlorine. We have a very old, very outdated water service in this old beaten town, and it was just voted in to replace many peices/parts of the station. The water treatment is just shoddy. I am thinking of a whole house filter is this shower head works. |
