Lost "my" dog
I have never done this before so I hope this is where I post questions and things.
My roommate and his dog, Morgan, just moved out after 7 months, mainly because I am not allowed to have dogs in my apartment building. Morgan and I have been attached at the hip for 7 months, and I miss him horribly. I relied on him for company at home and to ease my anxiety in social situations. I have been doing some reading about Emotional Support Dogs (ESD) and am wondering if they have to have special training to be in an apartment building that doesn't allow dogs (it's government subsidized housing). I plan to ask my doctor about ESDs when I see her, but am hoping to find some good information to give her just in case. Things have just been really hard because of the holidays and because I have a vacation from school for 5 weeks. I have nothing to get me out of the house and my routine is falling apart. My psychiatrist and I are also in the process of changing my meds, so I just can't tell what is actually causing my depressive symptoms. |
Dear Rmevans,
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?t=7737 Here's a link Terri posted about emotional support dogs. Sorry that you are depressed and missing your dog. Do you miss the room mate? Or just the dog? Mari |
I mostly miss the dog (Morgan). The roommate (Brian) hasn't been much of a friend for the past couple months, so I've already gotten over losing him. He tends to answer my calls only when he is broke. I understand that Morgan is his dog but I've taken care of him for the past 7 months so I feel I should get to visit once in a while. I also worry that Brian isn't taking very good care of him; I know that Morgan is the one who doesn't eat when Brian is out of money. Also, Morgan is a 95 lb Chocolate/Black Lab who needs to go outside once in a while rather than being locked in a basement apartment for 10-12 hours while Brian is working.

He sounds beautiful. I love labs. http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/happy0026.gif
What a shame that he is in the basement all day long. Dogs make better friends than some people. Mari |
I wish you well with your hopes of having your own dog. What are you taking in school?

I am so sorry to hear that Morgan is missing. It could be because you moved.
He may be on his way back to where you moved, dogs aren't stupid. Does he have a chip in him? If so, and someone finds him, they will eventually have to have him scanned and your name will come up. Have you called the Humane Society or the Local Animal shelter? I would do that. Or go there myself. Make some poster's and post them around. You can also call local Vets to see if anyone has brought him in or posted. Check the newspaper too, or a Petsmart or Petco, they usually post there for dogs that are lost or found.I have 2 dogs, and I would be beside myself if anything happened to them. Ask neighbors too. Good Luck. Hopefully, he will come home, is he neutered? If not, he may just be out having a good time with a female dog. Good Luck, and all my prayers are with you and Morgan, don't give up. Keep us posted. Lots of Hugs, Nikko |
Bumping up......Any luck yet????????????????? I didn't realize that your roommate had Morgan, maybe you can arrange to at least see Morgan from time to time until you are able to get a dog of your own. Remember Morgan loves you and will never forget you and all the fun you had. Talk to your roommate, explain how you feel about Morgan.
