hello,
I have obstructive hydrocephalus and have had a VP Shunt since I was 3 mo old. I am now 29 yrs old. I have led a pretty normal life for the past 26 years playing sports running no real problems with my shunt until about 3 years ago I started having severe headaches and dizziness and vomiting and blurring vision ever since then I have had nothing but headaches literally. I have had to have I believe 5 revisions I think I have kinda lost count it has been a rough 3 years. I am still not right. I have not been able to run for at least a year due to the headaches. I am very fatigued, still vomiting, my whole personality has changed. I want my life back!! This shunt thing has ruined my life but the neurosurgeon tells me that I would die without one so I am just trying to hang on but these headaches have to stop. They have tried different shunt and adjustments and also various meds and nothing seems to work. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has been though a similar situation. There was talk of doing an Endoscopic Third Ventriculoscopy?? Any advice?? Thanks Heather |

I suffer headache 24/7 so I know how draining it can be. While I can't make any suggestions because my condition is different, I'm confident that you'll find folks here who can help with the specifics. The rest of us are here to listen anytime you need to complain, whine or throw a good old-fashioned cathartic tantrum. :welcome_sign: |
