Is there any hospital near by that has an anestesolgist pain clinic? Is there a friend or family that could drive you since it is not something you usually go to that often. I know my mom drove me when I went to Cleveland and that was 3 plus hours away. I actually found a better pain doctor though that was 45 min away by calling a major hospital in my area and explaining my condition. Some here though I had 3 gp docs have gps that deal with meds but obviously not invasive procedure. I am sorry I wish I could be more help

Bill, I went to a pain clinic, took what they recommended to my PCP and asked if he would prescribe the same for me so I wouldn't have to go out of town. He agreed, checked with them, told them he would be handling my pain. All was well. Everyone agreed. I've been sooooo grateful.

If you've got something that works for you from a pain clinic, I don't believe you'd have any problem changing to your PCP. Just talk to the PCP first and let him/her handle it. If you ask the pain clinic about it, they probably will want to keep you going to them.

Good luck!
